Their reality--their significance--at home in all of my being.
Softly they echo.
God with us...
Not against us.
Not absent or distracted.
God with us...
In us and in our midst.
Do you see Him?
Are you looking for Him in a manger?
Are you searching at the cross?
He is no longer there!
Look again.
Look where most typically overlook Him.
Because there's nothing typical about this King.
Look again.
In hungry faces.
And lonely places.
Behind ice cold barriers.
And seemingly hopeless scenarios.
With loved ones.
And with those we think we cannot love.
With you.
With me.
Without our conditional limitations.
This Christmas.
Always.
"Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me... inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me."
